You know what?

I’ll be a bit sad without a challenge…

Wonder what I should do next?!

20 days without chocolate

I feel less lethargic although this could be more to do with cutting out gluten.

I am worried that after tomorrow (day 21 and the final day) I will jump straight back in, resisting no temptations and going nuts.

It has occurred to me that perhaps I should try eating what I want on one day, then have 3 good days and so on… But I’m not sure that I can be bothered with 3 weeks of uni left.

Hmmm…

Still, I’m glad I did this and all going to plan my portion size of sweet treats will be less than before :)

Day 19 of 21

Well, I no longer have mad cravings for sugar but I think that is because of two things.

One: I have gone completely gluten free and this has caused me to be WAY less lethargic! Hooray I have energy! And when I notice I have energy while suffering under the flu, I think that is a big deal!

Two: Because I’m not eating gluten I am eating way less carbs, which as you all know, carbs turn to sugar in your system and I would notice, in the past, that when trying to kick sugar but still eating lots of carbs, the cravings would not go away as you might expect them too as my body was still producing sugar! Stupid carbs.

But that is all ok because I have more energy :)

But I did have the sad realisation that I can no longer have cheesecake. Well, I can’t have the crumbs on the bottom (unless I make one from scratch which I have never done), which are like, the best part!

Sad. But oh well!

Day 16 of 21!

Can see the finish line now!

I’m grateful to the people who decided to do it with me or I would have given up by now!

I’m pretty proud of myself :)

So hard to eat healthy!

Actually, it’s probably not that hard. Probably what is hard is doing way too much, being tired all the time and trying NOT to use sugar as a coping strategy to get through.

Now I am not eating sugar, I am doing caffeine. Like a lot. Like 3 coffees today. And some Pepsi Max. But hey. No sugar.

Sigh.

I need to do something differently.

Today I resisted:

I even ate a pretty healthy lunch! Pretty proud.

Everyone, this was so amazing but I just ate my last avocado so can’t make it again to take my own picture. BUT, just so you can get a head start and try it out for yourself (if you haven’t all ready), I found a picture =) :
Brown Rice and Avocado
1/2 cup cooked brown rice
1/2 Hass avocado, cut and cubed
Season with sea salt and pepper to taste
So easy and yet so tasty. Life is good.
Simply Cooked tops this with a Vietnamese sauce with red pepper, ginger, fish sauce, and lime which sounds awesome and I’m definitely going to make it when I get another avocado…but if you want to keep this vegetarian and vegan, stick in the salt&pepper!
Happy healthy eating  <3

Oh my stars.
This looks YUM.

All the vegans talk about having ALL THIS ENERGY.

I want some energy!

Day 7 of 21!

Ok, I have been sticking this out but honestly I thought I would be feeling better by now!

Having said that, I did just sleep for 10ish hours and I’m feeling pretty good but I think that is more to do with the massage I had yesterday!

Well, it does make me notice when I eat mildly unhealthy foods as opposed to before when I would have just been: ah nom nom nom!

So, hopefully I feel even better in a few days! I do have a bit more energy now compared to before! Little steps :)
